Ugly Website - Beautiful Copy!

Don’t be fooled.
Yes, my website looks amateurish - heck, I won’t even fool myself…
it is an amateur job! I put it together myself a couple of years ago using a web page builder. Thing is, this downright bland old website is like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow... make no mistake... and let me tell you why.

Most people make 3 very common mistakes with their websites;
(1) They think that because they have a website it’s a case of “build it and they will come”;
(2) Some think that they have to have really snazzy pizazzy websites that look sensational;
(3) Still others think that websites have to be expensive in order to achieve results.

No More Fooling! I’m Here To
Shatter Some Myths About Websites -
And You'll Learn A Thing Or Two About Web Copy .

Simplicity - that's the key. Make your website fast to download, full of quality content, and super-easy to navigate. That is, it should be really easy to get around the site to find everything.
Make it so your customers know - without a doubt - that you have the solution to their greatest problem! That you can ease their worries, help them
face their day with one less care in the world.

Just like my humble site.

When you land here, the first thing you know - unshakably, for certain, without doubt - is that I am a professional copywriter (not a web designer). I haven't been all that fussed on exactly how pretty my website is, or whether it looks like great 'web-candy'...

You found my website, so I know how to get noticed. I can get search engines to place me where you can find me, and I can help ensure "they will come" for you, too - (that’s my SEO and marketing skill on show!)

You’ve forgotten how ugly my website is now, haven’t you! That’s the other skill I have - my messages get your readers in, because my messages focus on the reader, the person who has a problem and needs an answer.

Your problem is that you have something that needs to be written. It may be web copy, direct response copy, and/or business marketing collateral, right? They're my specialties.
The answer you need is 'stickability'.

For example:

  • You have a website and it sucks - you had it built, they came and they left... it doesn’t have stickability, and the conversions don’t even happen;
  • Or, you have a fabulous looking website - all flash and dynamic, and a work of art, and your conversions suck. Why? Because your website doesn’t have stickability... and you’ve forgotten about those thousands of other websites out there competing for the same customers;
  • Or, you don’t even have a website, or it’s so amateur even I’d be ashamed of it… and no doubt you’re missing all those potential conversions, and that hugely desirable essence of stickability

"Stickability" - do you have it, is it contagious and who do you need to see about it?

There’s a fair chance that if you’re wondering what the heck Stickability is, then you don’t have it. And now is not the time to be breathing a sigh of relief (yes, I almost heard you…)

Here’s the thing:
If you don’t have it - or more accurately, if your website or any sales and communication messages don’t have it - then you have a serious problem.
This is the one time when you ought to be wishing you had this ‘nasty’ sounding concern.

So what is it and who do you need to see about it?
Stickability - it’s the art of creating web or other persuasive marketing messages that keep your prospects paying attention, reading every word and then responding to your call to action.

Consider this:

The prospect keys in a search term in the search engine. Your website address shows up, along with hundreds of others ranked for that search term. The prospect clicks on your ad. The page opens, and…
You have somewhere between 6-12 seconds to capture that reader’s attention. Take more time than that and you’ll really ‘click-off’ your prospects.
And that time is not solely the time spent reading your website message. It also includes how long your page takes to open (because of all the snazzy flashy stuff you think looks beautiful).

And this :

The prospect opens her mailbox. There are 3-4 envelopes and a few flyers awaiting her attention. Your envelope looks intriguing, and the message teaser makes her curious. She opens it, and…
You have about 3-6 seconds to get her totally sucked into the message.
Otherwise, your letter gets the ‘scrunch and toss’ treatment.

Here’s what you need to do next.

Terri, my experience of your professional service was quite unique.

I got the awareness that your intention was to move me where I was not wanting to go, being vulnerable and telling you all there is - so that you could write honestly about me for my business profile.

Then there was the intensity of being understood by you to a point where I was almost forced by myself into action that, to say the least, was so emotionally rich and liberating.

Thank you for making such a difference to my journey and the people that will be touched by me. I could say more but I believe that summarises my experience.

Thank you millions.
